How To Contact Us
The church is really a family of believers who care and nuture each other by following the example Jesus
provided. Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church has several ways in which it attempts to accomplish this task.
We believe that prayer is an important part of a Christian’s life. This is
magnified when members of our
congregation are going through difficult
times. We have a chain of volunteers who graciously agree to pray for all
those who need
it. They also spread the word to the church family —
when the person who is receiving prayer desires it — to ensure that information
about illnesses is shared quickly and appropriately. Prayer is also an important part of every worship service.
Some members of our congregation and the community of faith simply cannot enjoy our church’s fellowship because
of illness or injury. Our church always needs assistance in visiting people so that they know they are valued and loved. The Care
& Kindness Committee oversees this effort. Names and phone numbers of members of the group are printed in each week’s bulletin.
Our church provides greeting cards for members of our church family for such occasions as birthdays and anniversaries.
We also send get-well cards when people inform the church office that they have been or are hospitalized.
Hebrews 3:4 says “For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.” And our church
building is certainly God's house. Our Trustees provide a number of services in our church. If you have a particular skill that you
would like to share with our church by helping maintain our facilities, we would appreciate your ssistance.
Among the duties provided
by the Trustees:
* Upkeep of the church building,
including monitoring the facility
for needed repairs.
*
Minor repairs, although the
Trustees also seek out help from
trained professionals when
needed.
In those cases, the
Trustees supervise the repairs to
ensure they meet our
congregation’s expectations.
*
Complete small projects, many of
which play to the specific talents
of the men and women on the
committee.
* Landscaping, including the plants
and other decorative elements on
the church property.
