Learning about God is a life-long journey. Classes are offered throughout the week to meet many schedules.
SHUMC offers two classes for adults on a regular basis during the 9:45 a.m. Sunday school hour.
One class in Room 3 of the Education Building typically involves a Bible study that addresses specific concepts, such as prayer, specific
books of the Bible
SHUMC has started a new class that will talk about the important role circuit riders played in the histories
of the United Methodist Church as well as the country.
Todd Seifert will share some of the history of the
circuit riders each week through November. The class meets in Room 3 during the Sunday School hour.
Jesus called all of his followers -- including those of us today -- to be disciples. SHUMC offers Disciple
Bible Study classes on a regular basis. Some of these courses take more than 30 weeks to complete. Disciple I, which provides an overview
of the Bible and culminates with a heightened awareness of the student's spiritual gifts, is required for participation in subsequent
courses.
and lifestyle choices. A second class, in the Chapel, typically examines various concepts of life, such as parenting issues, mistakes
Christians make, world religions and more.
These classes change from time to time.
Rev. Amy Seifert leads a women's study at 6:30 p.m. each Monday at the church that focuses on issues pertinent
to women today.
The classes include videos and Bible study. But the classes also rely heavily on group discussions
that help the participants draw deeper meaning from the materials being studied.

SUNDAYS
9:45 a.m. -- A Bible study in Room 3 for the weeks leading up to Christmas will look at the birth of Jesus based on the history
of ancient Palestine and will examine the chronology of the story by looking at all four Gospels. Join Todd Seifert during the Sunday
School hour for this exploration of Scripture.
