Youth Mission Trip

Four members of our Live The Example youth group attended a mission camp in July 2009 with about 800 other teenagers from across the U.S.

Four members of the Live The Example SHUMC youth group traveled to Durango, Colo., for a Student Life camp.

The four youth members helped renovate a home that a growing church in that area will use as a fellowship and work area. They also helped clear part of the grounds so that the land can be used in different capacities by the church.

The group also took part in worship services with the 800-plus other youth in attendance. Christian recording artists The Michael Gungor Band performed each night and Ergun Caner, a convert from Islam, shared an important message about the importance of defending our faith. The kids also took time to tour a mine on their way home.
