Each summer, SHUMC provides a Vacation Bible School for children of the church and the community with a goal of teaching more about
Christ.
More than 50 children gathered together July 27-31 for Vacation Bible School.
This
year, the host church was New Promise Lutheran Church, which conducted Bible School with Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church
and Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.
The theme was "Surfing the Word." The beach served as a backdrop for
Bible games, lessons, singing, crafts and
recreational activities.
Children who attended all
received T-shirts
and brought home the crafts that they made during VBS.
Funds raised from offerings from the children and their
congregations will go to the Learning Center for Families, which helps children with developmental issues catch up
to
children their age.
Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped the children learn about the love of Jesus
while having fun all week long.
